“We ask ourselves: why a Seminar for Interprovincial Conferences? Why a time of study and deepening to be done together that can help us find the way of living authority as a service, as animation and governance? We are convinced that authority is a mission to be carried out. It is not a power; it is not a dominion. Consecrated life in general has been questioning itself for years about the models and the exercise of an authority that is open to change, hope, and regeneration ». - Mother Chiara Chiazzola
After the Seminar, I think all participants had a very deep answer in their hearts.
What was the Seminar?
An experience of profound communion in our charismatic values, a practical experience of work in Synodality, a sharing time that renewed our life and changed some points of view or enabled us to see what, until that moment, we were not able to see. The seminar was an experience of prayer and discernment through the action of the Holy Spirit.
Sisters, members of the provincial’s counsels, and sisters in charge of different sectors of the mission from numerous provinces of Africa and Madagascar formed a colorful and international assembly that shared, studied, discussed, and decided in harmony with the three steps: recognizing, interpreting and choosing.
Our animators were the general counselors and our Mother General, Mother Chiara Chiazzola. They showed us with extreme simplicity what generative authority means. During the whole week, they shared with us, reflecting, guiding groups, enjoying the recreation, and giving their reflections.
Our mandate is to transmit what we received to our sisters with the same enthusiasm and courage that the animators showed us.
