Young faces from Tonj

The communication of these past days spent in Tonj was not great at all therefore the administrator could not update the blog but we can assure you that it was a beautiful visit. The mission is taking shape and the children who attend our school from nursery to the third grade of Bakhita Primary school are very proud of their teachers and structure. While in morning many of their friend have to walk to school carrying a chair, they know that their only concern is to reach Bakhita P.S. on time and clean (this is what Sr. Elizabeth is repeating to them over and over again!)…. then it will be fun all the way through because they have proper desks and chairs when it is time for lesson and plenty of safe space to play during recreation time.

Rain season means… cultivation! Sr. Miriam is motivating different women groups to cultivate the land so to be able to have a good harvest and nourish well their families. She is also following a group of young girls who are illiterate and who, thanks to teacher Marco, are now learning a bit of English and Maths.

Sr. Rosa has her heart in the planning and the landscaping of the property which indeed is a beautiful place. She intends to make this corner of the world a beautiful place for the people of Tonj and indeed our mission in Tonj is simple and beautiful.
