2. About the EASY WE Project
The EASY WE Project supports youth employment and women’s empowerment in Ethiopia by strengthening technical and vocational skills, promoting entrepreneurship and work readiness, and creating pathways to decent work. The project is implemented by Salesian Sisters AES in collaboration with partner organizations in target communities.
3. Main Responsibilities
- Deliver theoretical and practical fashion design training to trainees.
- Prepare session plans and relevant training materials.
- Teach fashion illustration, pattern making, sewing techniques, textiles, and garment production.
- Demonstrate safe use of sewing machines and tools.
- Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Mentor trainees and support their personal and professional growth.
- Maintain equipment and workshop materials in good condition.
- Keep accurate training records and documentation.
- Contribute to curriculum improvement and training quality.
- Support trainees in building portfolios, accessing internships, employment, self-employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
4. Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Garment Technology, Textile Design or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
- Holistic COC Certificate (Certificate of Competence) – mandatory.
- TVET methodology or pedagogy certification – an advantage.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in fashion design training or a similar role.
- Good knowledge of garment construction, pattern drafting, draping, sewing, and textiles.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and CLO 3D preferred.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and assessment skills.
